Mullein (especially the leaves) has been used across the world over 150 different species. Verbascum thapsus it's the most commonly used one.  The most common ways to use this are as a tea, supplement or as an oil.

The first law of nature is self-preservation that's the reason why we entire drink. So the basics of survival is going off of nutrition.

When facing sickness a person usually wants to become better fast as possible. This is where conventional medicine kicks in because it speeds up or slows down certain body functions. Complementary medicine can you use herbs, spices, acupuncture, massages, yoga, visualization etc to help a person heal. This complementary is effective but it usually takes more time.

The practice of mainly using conventional methods is more of a modern / eastern hemisphere way. Complementary is more of a western hemisphere and have existed thousands of years prior to the conventional one. Interesting enough complimentary medicine aka the natural route has been increasing every year.

Too often we have heard we are what we consume. But on a deeper level we are what’s inside of what we are eating. This is why chronically eating / drinking throughout the day doesn't mean anything if the items are nutrient-depleted. The active compounds in mullein our flavonoids, iridoirds, phenylethanoid glycosides, saponins, verbascos, verbasterol etc Which have antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antioxidants, pain relieving etc benefits.

The most common use of mullein is for respiratory issues such as asthma, bronchitis, chest infections, congestion, cough etc. It has also been used for constipation (verbascos), inflammation, migraines,  sleep issues, gout, ear infections, wound healing, upset stomach, heart health etc

It is also contains in antioxidants which help reduce free radicals. Free radicals are a natural part of cell metabolism. But too many of them causes of oxidative stress which is damaging. Anytime there is free radicals there is some form of inflammation. Think of free radicals as fire🔥 antioxidants as water 💦.

Even though this plant is powerful certain people should not be taking it if they are pregnant and breastfeeding.
