Holy basil benefits

Holy basil originated from Southeast Asia. It has been used for thousands of years for medicinal properties in this case. It is used in Indian and Thai recipes.  But also, can be found in teas, supplements, tinctures, powder etc. Stress is a part of life when it becomes chronic, this is where the issues happen.  Which leads to people eating/ drinking ultra processed items with high calories and low nutrients.   If you are feeling stressed, depressed or have anxiety getting this would be perfect.

You can make a easy caffeine free tea out of it with 32 of water, 3 tbsp of holy basil and half a lemon slice.  Let this infuse for a few hours.  You can also make this on the stove but don't add the lemons until it is cool.   Vitamin C is heat sensitive, so it decreases with temperature or time with heat.  If you have trouble sleeping this should be your go to.  It is good for digestion especially constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, ulcers, prebiotic etc. The leaves are good for helping speed up wound healing. Holy basil has antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral etc properties.

Both plants and animals have a immune system which breaks down to the innate and adaptive.  Animals have both a circulation system and specialized immune cells. The innate immune system is the first line of defense whenever the body is under attack. The adaptive immune system is the second line of defense which has specialized antibodies/immune cells that attack and destroy bacteria, fugus, viruses, etc that prevent harm based off of memory.

These plants lack adaptive immunity their innate immune system faster and often stronger. Plants also has the ability to inform cells of disease-causing organisms or cause a infected cells to die off to prevent spreading.

It also contains in antioxidants which help reduce free radicals. Free radicals are a natural part of cell metabolism. But too many of them cause oxidative stress which is damaging. Anytime there is free radicals there is some form of inflammation. Think of free radicals as fire🔥 antioxidants as water 💦. Such it is a adaptogen it can help with arthritis or fibroids.
