There are over 250 different species of fenugreek but Trigonella foenum-graecum is the most popular. This plant has been used for thousands of years across the world mainly in Africa and South Asia. They have somewhat of a sweet taste to them. Interesting enough if you consume them you start to sweat it will smell like maple syrup. This plant is often used in powders, supplements, teas, tinctures etc. in a general sense spices and seeds have the highest amount of health properties. To get more of these benefits consuming them in a supplement is the easiest way.
1 tbsp. has over 20% of the daily iron and person needs. There are two forms of iron, non heme and heme. Most individuals know about heme iron that comes from meat. But a deeper look only 40 to 45% of the iron in meat is heme iron and 55 to 60% is non heme iron. But out of that 40 to 45% only 15 to 35% is bioavailable or easily absorbed. Vitamin C will help with the absorption of non heme. So, if a person has anemia instead of worrying about getting more iron and they should focus on getting some more vitamin c.

Fenugreek contains fiber which helps improve digestion. Fiber is a prebiotic which is a food for the bacteria in the intestines. Interested enough most people only get about half of the fiber they need on a daily basis. This is also been used to promote hair growth.
People who shouldn't take fenugreek are individuals that are on a blood thinner, you have thyroid conditions, I'm taking medication for diabetes, on anti-acids etc
